Swatch Comparison - Funky Fingers Sand and Stilettos vs. Color Club Magic Attraction

In my recent swatches/review post of some Funky Fingers polishes, Rebecca asked me to compare one of them (Sand and Stilettos) with Magic Attraction by Color Club.

As you can see, both of the shades include silver and holographic glitter suspended in a clear base. However, the major difference is that the silver glitter that dominates in Magic Attraction is also coupled with a sort of rose pink coloured glitter. I really didn't find find this as noticeable until I compared these two shades and had Magic Attraction next to a clearly silver glitter polish.

Aside from the colour difference, the glitter in Magic Attraction is slightly denser than that of Sand and Stilettos. Swatches of both shades are still 3 coats each but I had to apply the coats of Sand and Stilettos a little more thickly than I did with Magic Attraction.

Although the two shades have about the same amount of holographic glitter within them, it's more pronounced and brighter in Sand and Stilettos.

The formula is good with both of these but like most glitters with clear bases, they take a number of coats to reach full opacity and it's easy for these types of polishes to get really thick on the nail. For this reason, if I were to wear either of these, I would probably layer them over a coordinating polish so that I wouldn't have to use as many coats.

Color Club Magic Attraction was released with the Glitter Vixen Collection which was a limited edition set but can still be bought online for a reasonable price. Funky Fingers Sand and Stilettos is available now at Five Below stores in the US and I'm not sure whether or not it is limited edition since I don't have a Five Below where I live.

In the end, if I had to choose one over the other, I think I would surprisingly go with Sand and Stilettos. I prefer the silver-only glitter to the silver and rose coloured glitter and I also like that the holographic glitter in Sand and Stilettos stands out more than that of Magic Attraction. Guess I can knock Magic Attraction out of my Top 10 Polish list!

Review & Swatches - Funky Fingers Holographic Glitter Polishes

Hey guys!

I'm back! (Not that I was gone for a significant amount of time or anything, haha.)
But my schoolwork is done now until final exams and I'm excited to be able to post regularly until then.

And for anyone wondering, my Dad's surgery went smoothly and he's doing very well. :)

On Thursday I received nail mail from the lovely Traci who is a wonderful member of the Facebook group Polish-aholics Anonymous. Her and I did a swap recently and she sent me some Funky Fingers polishes which is a brand that I don't have access to here. The ones I received are all holographic glitter formulas and they're pretty awesome looking.

The formula was basically the same on all of these, which is why I chose not to review them separately. The formula felt like a standard glitter - a little thick but not too difficult to work with. As well, all of my swatches are 3 coats. The holographic particles are very noticeable and don't get lost once on the nail.

Overall, I'm happy with these polishes. I probably wouldn't wear them on their own because they do require a few coats and that many coats on the nails can start to feel a little thick, especially when you add a coat or two of top coat. Instead, I suggest putting down a coordinating base colour and layering these on top.

One thing I really like about these polishes is the long brush handle which offers great control. On the negative side though, I don't particularly care for the bottle shape of these polishes, only because it's a little awkward to store.

From what I hear, this brand can be found at Five Below stores which can only be found in the US. If you're interested in these shades or others from the brands, I suggest you ask a friend in the US to get them for you. They're also very inexpensive: 3 polishes for $5!
