My Current Project - "Untrieds" Drawer

    Hey!

I thought that tonight I would show you guys my current project as well as give you a sneak peak into my nail polish collection (and I promise you there is a full collection post coming asap).

This is my "Untrieds" drawer where I hold all of my recent nail polish purchases until I swatch them for you and on my own nail wheels. Usually I swatch polishes for you within the first couple of days of getting them but for my own wheels, I typically have a swatching marathon once every couple of weeks, but this varies depending on how many I've acquired, really.
However, I've neglected my own wheels lately and it's left me with quite a large drawer of untrieds, or unswatched if you prefer.

Keep reading for more photos and a full list of the polishes you see above.

So what do you see here?

At the back of the drawer are my newly acquired Nfu-Oh Holographic polishes (I mentioned these in this haul post and #61 and #65 arrived today).

In front of those we have the Orly Happy Go Lucky Collection as well as 4 colours from last year's Orly Sweet Collection which Sally's recently started carrying as open stock.

Continuing down the left side we have a slew of OPI polishes including the Katy Perry Collection, the Texas Collection, the Blue-Hued Shatters, the OPI Serena Williams Glam Slam! England duos, OPI Red and White Shatter from the Glam Slam France duos, and a few OPI DS Series polishes including Original, Classic and Reflection.

Moving over the right side of the drawer, we have a number of China Glaze polishes in the front including the Crackle Metals Collection, the original Crackle Collection and 5 shades from the Tronica Collection (as mentioned in this haul post).

Behind the China Glaze polishes we have 2 Revlon colours - Royal and Perplex.

And last but not least, at the back of the drawer on the right hand side, we have a number of Essie polishes including the Resort 2011 Collection, the Braziliant Collection as well as a few open stock colours that I've accumulated.

So that's it for my untrieds drawer! I think a swatching marathon is way overdue.
Did you guys keep an "untrieds" drawer? Has it gotten as out of hand as mine has?

Review & Swatches - Revlon Perplex

    Hey guys!

Another post for you today - albeit a quick one. I recently picked up a few items in a blog sale and the seller was sweet enough to add in a little extra bonus gift for me - a bottle of Revlon Perplex which has been on my wishlist for a while now.

Keep reading for the review and swatches!

Perplex is a greyed-brown with purple shimmer that applies quite a bit darker than it looks in the bottle. It has a really good formula and it's almost a one-coater but I used 2 in my swatch just to make sure it was completely even.

There was a lot of hype surrounding this shade back in November/December of last year because it is a supposed dupe for the popular but discontinued Chanel Paradoxal. Now I don't own Paradoxal (in fact I don't own any Chanel polishes) so I won't be able to do a comparison for you but a quick google search will result in numerous comparisons of the two shades.

This shade was never released in Canada (boo for U.S. only releases) so I didn't have a way to get my hands on this easily and I'm very thankful that Jennifer was nice enough to send it to me as a gift.

I'm not sure if this is still available in the U.S. but I'm going to guess that it was a limited edition shade. However, if you can get your hands on it, I think it's a really beautiful shade and Revlon polishes are a whole lot cheaper than Chanel so if this truly is a dupe of Paradoxal, it's quite a deal.

What do you guys think? Did you pick up this shade?

Review & Swatches - Revlon Royal

    Hey guys!

I have another blue-themed post for you today.

I have been hearing a lot of buzz about this shade by Revlon and I finally picked it up over the weekend. I say finally because I have seriously had this in my hands/cart at places like Wal-Mart and Shopper's Drug Mart about 10 times and I always ended up putting it back before I got to the checkout.

I guess now that I'm able to get polishes such as OPI, China Glaze and Essie at a discount, I find it hard to spend the same amount (or more in some cases) on drugstore polishes. However, I made an exception for Revlon Royal just because of the sheer number of people who have been recommending it to me.

Keep reading for the review and swatches!

This polish is absolutely stunning. It's the perfect shade of royal blue and the formula is perfection - it glides over the nail like a dream. The brush however is a little floppy but I wouldn't go so far as to say that it's difficult to work with.

My swatch is 2 coats and as you can see it's still a little transparent, but since it's a jelly formula, that's how it's meant to be. However, you could add another coat if you would like it to be more opaque. It didn't seem to dry much quicker than your average jelly polish and I normally wouldn't count that as a negative thing except that these are advertised as having a dry fast formula.

It's not quite as apparent in the photos but this polish dried to a sort of vinyl looking finish, which is why I added the photos of this with a top coat as well.

Overall, I'm really in love with this colour and I can't wait to be able to incorporate it into a nail art design.

What do you guys think? Have you picked this shade up yet?
