Pucci holds back

At its best, Pucci has the ability to create a wow factor that's so hard hitting it could flatten a small building with the swish of a trailing skirt hem. Under Peter Dundas' hand the brand has become sultrier and sexier than ever, though that oomph we've been seeing on his main collection runways hasn't quite made its way to the latest Resort 2012 offering. This one instead gets a more relaxed, dare I say even cutesy working over.

Pucci's maxis for Resort 2012 are cut wide to more of a kaftan fit. To contrast there's plenty of tailoring, mostly pant-suits, but they're buttoned high in the jacket and cropped at the pant leg and overall lend themselves to more of a sweet sixties feel than a powerful sexy one (not to say that's a bad thing). The injection of sexiness comes more by way of sheer lace dresses and playsuits, but even those are played down to the more sophisticated side.
